Completely
green. Dan Studniski grew up in the rich farm country of Minnesota
and the only tractors you would have found there were John Deere's.
"I love that green and yellow," responded when talking about his
brand.
"I grew up on a
farm I always loved the big tractors. Then I moved to the city and I
couldn’t have tractors."
Studniski found a great compromise. One
day while he was going through a garden tractor boneyard and he came
across a little treasure, his first 70. He pretty much fell in love
with it and decided he had to have it. The guy was pretty easy going
and Studniski was pretty much able to talk the guy out of it. Future
trips to the boneyard resulted in a couple more additions to his
collection. One tractor in particular looked so much like a 3020
that he made a farm tractor out of it. "I had no idea it would turn
into that when I started it 4 years later. It came together piece
by piece."
For the past
decade Studniski has spent a great deal of time make garden tractors
look new again. He paints some of tractors himself, others by
someone else. His family isn't interested in tractors, "they didn't
grow up on a farm". Although his son, Wyatt, enjoyed showing off his
dad's fine work at Expo 2008.
If you are
unable to find him at the garden tractor boneyard, look on
commercial construction sites in the Twin Cities area. Being
outdoors biking or canoeing top his list of hobbies as well as
spending time with his son, Wyatt.
